Typical sequence of lessons:
Student reads
assignments in training manuals.
Arrive for lesson.
Student and instructor
review last lesson and discuss tasks for the day’s lesson.
Put on flight
gear, hook up intercom and perform coms check.
Climb into the
aircraft and strap in.
Student and instructor
review tasks for lesson.
Student conducts
start up sequence and taxis to take off location and then takes off.
Student and instructor
reach minimum altitude for tasks, (3,000 ft), student talks instructor
thru tasks before performing them.
Return to landing
zone review landing sequence and roll in for a smooth landing.
Exit air craft,
remove gear, and secure aircraft.
Instructor critiques
tasks performed by student and assigns reading assignment for next
lesson.
Student schedules
next lesson.
Lessons are paid in advance of flight / pay as you go. Flight instruction
is by the lesson, typically one hour per lesson, including on ground
pre-training, and post training/critique.
Typical Discovery Flight Sequence:
Arrive at DelMarVa
Sky Adventures.
Complete five
minutes of paperwork.
Talk about the
procedures and flight route with pilot.
Put on flight
gear, hook up intercom and perform coms check. (load camera with
film)
Climb into the
air craft and strap in.
Pilot will review
procedures and controls.
Pilot conducts
start up sequence and taxis to take off location then takes off.
Relax and enjoy
the view while you fly the eastern shore.
Return to landing
zone to review landing sequence and roll in for a smooth landing.
Exit aircraft,
remove gear then tell your waiting friends how great it was!
